Spring Break Wednesday

Spring Break continues. Today we had our usual Wednesday lunch date (this time at Friendly's) followed by a trip to Barnes & Noble for some hang time, and to find something Katherine would like to spend her allowance on.

At $2 per week, she won't be starting any libraries, but she found something she liked, and learned how far, or not-so-far, money really goes. So the learning begins.

Spring Break Tuesday

This is Katherine's Spring Break week and, like Patrick's, I am trying to schedule one fun (out of the ordinary, out of the house, kid preferred) activity each day.
Today, after lunch duty at Trinity, we headed to the public library for some down time. New computer activities, lots of books to check out, and a dress up box!

Island Life

Although Katherine doesn't get to scuba, she's slowly adapting to island life. She has gone on the boat with us for most of our dives; when the surface is calm, she will join us in the water with her snorkel and watch us descend. When we return, she does the diver drop (sits on the gunnel of the boat and falls in backward) and splashes around with us while we get our gear off and pass it up to the captain, who is in charge when we are on the boat.

She is even starting to try some new foods, like this soup.

She has thrown down some challenges along the way, but we've also tried to do some things that are fun for her (like swimming at a beach or going to a playground).

Chinese Dragon

Katherine came home from school today with this great Chinese dragon that she made during "Friday Workshop".

Field Trip

Today I'm at the Flynn with Katherine. She's here for a field trip with her first grade class to see Imagine Ocean.
