My Big Brother

This is me with my big brother. I think I annoy him sometimes, but really I think he's pretty cool.

My Birthday

On October 27 I turned 5. At school Mama brought some treats for me to share with my class and I got to do the Birthday Walk where the Earth (which I am carrying) goes around the sun (the little candle on the floor) while my friends sing. Then for each year of my life, Mama had to say something special about that year.

When I got home from school, Papa came home early so that we could open presents. Oma sent this FunFusion activity. I can spend long periods of time creating cool shapes.

Mama and Papa gave me lots of paints so Patrick and I painted a big picture.

After dinner we went to the pool to swim (I love playing in the pool) and then came home for cake and ice cream. Like my swimming pool hair?

I also had a birthday party with my friends, but that had to wait for two weeks since the weekend after my birthday was Halloween and we had another party to attend that day. My friends Aiyana and Louisa came to my party (oh and Patrick, too). We did a craft project with leaves.

We had cake.

We acted silly.

And we opened presents. It was a very fun day.

First Day of Montessori School

This is it! It's my first day of Montessori School. Mama says I will come home before lunch because this is "phase-in week". I don't know what that means except that I will only go to school for an hour today, two hours tomorrow, and three hours on Friday. Next week I will start going all day. I sure hope my teachers are ready for me!

Last Day of Summer Vacation

It's the last day of summer vacation. I don't know what that means, but what I do know is that Patrick is sad and Mama did lots of fun stuff with us today. After we visited my school we went to the golf course for a round of miniature golf. I'm not so sure what is so "miniature" about it. I thought the golf club fit me just perfectly...although my grip is a bit awkward. Mama tries, but she's a 'rightie' so I think she just doesn't get me.

Getting Ready

In about a week I will be having a dance recital. That's what we're practicing for in dance class. But here I am showing Mama how I can spin.

My new blog

My name is Katherine...K-A-T-H-E-R-I-N-E. I am four years old and I know how to spell my own name even though it is longer than Patrick's.

I enjoy my dance class, the pizza party on AWANA nights, MOPS with Mama, and playgroup. I also enjoy ice skating, skiing (although I still fall down a lot), snow shoeing, and playing outside, especially when Patrick plays with me.

I'll try to keep you posted on all the fun things that I do on my adventure of being a girl.
